The Turner Sports Car Rally took place at Bantock
Park on 20th August, 2006, the second time the event has been
held there. The rally was well organised by the Turner
Registrar, Russell Filby, and Brian Shaw. Nine Turner sports
cars were present and they formed an impressive sight in front
of Bantock House. The event was well attended and many people
came along to inspect the cars and talk to their owners.
Peter
Tutthill has recently completed his long awaited book "Turner
Sports Cars" and Peter was on hand to sell some of the first
copies of his excellent work. As ever the cafe was open for
business and many of the visitors sampled the excellent food and
refreshments, as well as looking around the house. The Turner

the warm friendly atmosphere.
Russell Filby, the Turner Registrar, chats to a
visitor behind Nigel Taylor's MKI. No doubt discussing
some aspect of Turner cars.

porch at the front of the house.
Luckily the weather was kind and the much of the expected rain
kept away. An enjoyable day was had by all and hopefully
the event has helped to remind people of Jack Turner's
wonderful sports cars that were produced here in the
1950s and 1960s.
