Introduction

Miss Daisy Alcock 1901 – 1996

Daisy Alcock designed, lettered, and illuminated the H.M.S. Hood memorial book at Boldre Church and the Battle of Britain Roll of Honour for Westminster Abbey chapel which contains the names of the 1,497 pilots and aircrew killed or mortally wounded during the Battle of Britain.

She was one of the greatest calligraphers of her century and lived at New Cross Farm, Wednesfield. Her work can also be seen at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and local churches and hospitals in the Wolverhampton area.
