Houses in Newhampton Road
Two pairs of houses, with terracotta copings to the front
walls, door cases and gables. They are identical except in the
treatment of the gables. Presumably those who bought the houses in
the right hand pair paid more for the extra ornament.

Detail of the central part of the right hand pair.
Note the elaborate coping on the dividing wall between the two front
gardens. The gable has two different courses of terracotta and
a strange little bracket in the centre. Surely no one ever
intended to put a statue on it? Surely they didn't? |
