Built as part of re-development of Lichfield Street in 1880s.
Comment: The listing might have done better to have
called it an Arts and Craft's version of Jacobean. Note the studied
asymmetry of the facade.
The buildings are part of the 1880s re-development of Lichfield
Street. They are large for their time and place, and are a reminder of the
importance of Wolverhampton as a service centre - industry and commerce needed
offices as well as factories and they also needed the solicitors, accountants
and other services which would also have occupied these buildings.
