Listing: Large complex built c1910
incorporating three levels of school. A text book example of the
post Board School design developed in the early years of the 20th
century with emphasis on good light and ventilation. Pavilion
design around a courtyard with surviving verandas. Historically an
important building in the development of educational thought in
Wolverhampton. Locally Listed, approved November 2001.
Comment: The photo shows the courtyard round which
the buildings are clustered. One of the verandas can be seen on
the left. The one on the right has been bricked in. When
built the school lay on the edge of the urban area with fields to the
south. Later the fields became the AJS factory.
