Thanks to the School for permission to enter and photograph.
Listing: Grade II*. House, now part of
school. Early C18, possibly earlier wing, rebuilt 1840s.
Attributed to F. Smith of Warwick; for Sir William Gough. Early
Georgian style. A good example of an early C18 house, one of
several in the borough, with many surviving interior features.
				Literature: Alex Chatwin's Bushbury
				Parish and People
Comment: Now part of Our Lady and St.Chad Roman Catholic School.
It is worth remembering that Bushbury contained many Catholic families, even
when it was dangerous to do so!
Possibly this house gets its star, when most of the others in the City do
not, is because it is a bit fancier, being tricked out with stonework, and
may be by Smith of Warwick.
