Listing: Railway underbridge to high level railway line. 1848, widened
to east side c1870. Girder on east elevation: Thomas Perry and Sons Highfields
Foundry 1848. Included for group value.
Comment: It seems reasonable to assume that when the listing says
"Included for Group Value" the value is not the bridge's aesthetic qualities but
its importance as part of a whole collection of related railway structures, all
within this area, which, singly and together, tell an important story in the
history of British railways.
