Listing: Farmhouse, now house. Probably C17,
altered and extended in late C18 - early C19; later alterations
in later C19. Timber framed core to house now mostly clad
in red brick.
Comment: One of a scatter of erstwhile
farmhouses around the village of Tettenhall. One or two other
surviving houses seem to have been built, or to have been re-styled, in
the early nineteenth century. This work may have been done by
industrialists fleeing the smoke of Wolverhampton for the fresh air of
Tettenhall. If so, they were early starters in the movement which
reached flood-like proportions at the end of the century.
