Wolverhampton's Listed Buildings

Wightwick House

Wightwick Bank

Listing:  House.  Early C19 and later additions.  ... 7-window range with later cross wing to the left.

Comment:  The house stands just above Wightwick Manor and escaped the extensive work done there.

The listing seems to suggest that originally it consisted only of the range to the right and that the garden front was added later.  The listing does not suggest a date for this addition but the two bays could well be late 19th century.

Above is the earlier wing. The listing gives plenty of scope in its dating and for good reason.  Was the door always there or was it once more central?  Is the stucco original?
