John Smith of Coven, Engineer and Manufacturer
My interest in John Smith began when I had the pleasure of
attending a talk on industrial railways that was given by local expert Mervyn Srodzinsky. The talk was illustrated by slides and included a
couple of views of locomotives that were built by John Smith of Coven. I
had never heard of John Smith and my curiosity was aroused. The
following story is the result of my research. I hope to add more detail
