A once familiar figure
at the James Bridge site was the leading
Works Policeman Tom Garbett. He joined
Lloyds in 1947 as a furnace man but
unfortunately had a series accident that
prevented him returning to the production
department. Mr. M. C. Lloyd suggested that
Tom should move to the Works Police and he
first appeared at the old No. 1 gate in
1955. From 'The Steel Casting', courtesy of

In 1976 Mr. George
Jarrett, Lloyd's Buyer retired. He is
seen here receiving a wallet from the
Group Chairman Mr. Leslie Carrier.

Mr. W. L.
Beasley, Managing Director of F. H.
Lloyds, and Director of F. H. Lloyd
Holdings Limited retired at the end
of August 1977.
Sadly his
retirement was short-lived. He
passed away on 14th September, 1977
while on holiday.
