An Exceptional Undertaking
The Story of the Jennings Family Business

This fine view of
Horseley Fields was taken by Mr. Harold Jennings in 1962. |
The Directors in the late 1990s were brothers David, Philip and cousin Roger. The five
generations have between them guided the firm through many changes; from
horse-drawn hearses and the small cottage property in Union Mill Street to
modern comfortable Daimler limousines and a tastefully appointed Funeral
Home. The new St James' House was built in 1965. It has extensive facilities
including 14 very individual private chapels of rest. These provide a
dedicated space for reflection, and are a peaceful haven in which those who
loved the deceased can spend time in quiet and calm. The personal caring and
quality service provided by the family has helped many thousands of local
people in their time of great loss, and will continue to do so for many
generations yet to come. |
