LMS and BR Locomotives

Shrewsbury based 'Jubilee' number 45577 'Bengal' on the mainline to the north of High Level Station. It was built by the North British Locomotive Company in September 1934, and remained in service until September 1964.

Ex-War Dept. 2-8-0 number 90220 approaches High Level Station in 1964. It was built by the North British Locomotive Company at Glasgow in April 1943, and withdrawn in November 1965. At the time it was based at Canklow Shed, near Rotherham.


An ex-LNWR / LMS G2 0-8-0 goods locomotive backs into High Level Station.

Ivatt Class 4 mogul number 43033 built in 1949 and withdrawn 1968. Although the cab carries the correct number 43033, for some reason the number on the smokebox door is 42033.


Class 4 ex-LMS 2-6-4 tank engine built at Derby in 1936 and withdrawn in 1965.


An unknown ex-LMS Royal Scot heads north from Wolverhampton.


Ex-LMS Fowler 2P 4-4-0 built at Crewe in October 1931 and withdrawn in November 1959.


Ex-LMS Jubilee Class 45624 'St. Helena' built at Crewe in October 1934 and withdrawn in  November 1963.


A Riddles 9F 2-10-0 built at Crewe in July 1958 and withdrawn in November 1967.
