Jim drove buses for Midland Red. This is his
badge. So far as is known he was with Midland Red
(and its successors) all his working life. |
This is his driver's badge. He preserved these
badges to the end of his days. |

This snap is captioned, by Jim's
daughter, Dad and Friend.
Presumably that is Jim
on the left. The bus is the 885 from Wolverhampton
to Kidderminster via Kingswinford. Midland Red ran
the longer routes around the area whilst the
Wolverhampton council ran the local routes within the
borough. |
Jim's long service medal for 25 years service with
30 year bar. Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus
Co. Ltd. was the official company name of Midland Red. |

These safe driving meals were issued by ROSPA (the
Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents). The one on the left is for five years accident free
driving and has bars for 1949 to 1953. The one on
the right has bars for 1954, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1962 and
1963. What happened during the missing years is
not known! |
This photo is thought to be of one of the occasions
on which long service and safe driving awards were
issued. |

This photo is captioned Dad at Midland Red party. As everyone is in uniform it is probably another award
ceremony. |
Jim's T.G.W.U. lapel badge.
