The Macdonald sisters were remarkable siblings.
Georgiana and Agnes married famous artists, Alice was
the mother of a renowned writer and Louisa’s son became
Prime Minister. Three of them married when the family
was living in Wolverhampton, although two husbands were
first encountered in London when their father was a
Methodist minister there; they moved in London’s
artistic circle as a result of the school-boy friendship
between their brother Harry and Edward Burne-Jones.
